Trade Surveillance
Upload broker statements and trade data; get structured exception reports with regulatory context for every flag.
What it does
The Trade Surveillance app ingests executed trade data and broker confirmation files, runs configurable detection scenarios against them, and surfaces exceptions as structured cases for compliance review. Each flag includes the relevant regulatory rule — market manipulation prohibition, best execution requirement, or internal trading policy — so reviewers have immediate context rather than a raw alert.
Dispositions remain in your existing case management or vendor system. Shellsyntax captures the evidence trail: what was flagged, what the reviewer decided, and why.
Key capabilities
- Pre-built detection scenarios. Wash trading, layering, front-running, marking-the-close, excessive short selling — each scenario is configurable to your thresholds and instrument universe.
- Regulatory grounding per flag. Every exception links to the specific market manipulation prohibition or internal policy it potentially breaches.
- Structured exception reports. Exceptions are presented as reviewable cases with trade details, pattern description, and recommended next steps.
- Workflow integration. Exceptions can be escalated, closed with notes, or referred for investigation — creating an immutable audit trail.
- Bulk ingestion. Upload broker confirmation CSVs or connect via API to your OMS or prime broker feed.
Typical workflow
- Upload your end-of-day trade file (CSV, FIX, or via API).
- The surveillance engine runs all active detection scenarios.
- Exceptions appear in the review queue with severity rating, pattern description, and the relevant regulatory rule.
- Reviewer adds notes and disposes each exception — escalate, clear, or refer.
- The platform generates a monthly exception summary report for your compliance committee.
